In June of 2009, U.S. Pharmacist magazine featured a one page article on generic prescription trends. It stated that the use of generics has grown with leaps and bounds. They were 60% of all prescriptions in 2008 alone. There were approximately a million more generics than name brands filled according to Pharma Insight analysis.
